9:30 am Worship Service
9:30 A.M. WORSHIP
"Worshipping God in Traditional & New Ways"
Our 9:30 a.m. Worship service in the church sanctuary has been described by some as "kind of traditonal" but by almost all as "very loving and accepting". The 2nd and 4th Sunday worship services feature primarily praise songs. The choral choir sings at least once at every service.
The Messages: Pastors Ron Urzua & Bob Ramos primarily preach verse by
verse expositional messages through the books of the Bible.
They prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit's guidance as to what
books of the Bible to preach & teach from. They explain
the author's purpose and the original meaning of the
passage in its theological-historical context, and then share
how God's truth, promise, or challenge in the passage of
study can transform the heart and make a difference in
everyday life (at home, at work, in relationships, in recovery,
The Music: The worship committe of First Presbyterian Church does
its best to select traditional hymns and contemporary praise
songs that are Christ centered and God exulting so that as
worshippers contemplate the bigness and love of God their
faith will be lifted and their hearts drawn closer to God.
Our prayer and desire in worship is that people experience
the living Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit so that
collectively we grow deeper in love with God and share His
love with others.
The Prayers: Jesus said "My house shall be called a house of prayer" so
we collect "the prayers of God's people" on prayer cards
during the first part of the service, and then bring the
people and concerns in our hearts before God in prayer.
Pastors Ron and Bob are available at the conclusion of
worship services to "lay on hands of prayer" for those who
are seeking God for healing, encouragement, and fresh
infillings of the Spirit's power and grace.
